The 9 piece Swanvesta Social Club is the UK’s number one Anglo Cuban band. They play Cuban music in an English style and English music in a Cuban style blending original and older material in a unique interactive way, crossing folk, jazz, rock and pop barriers.
They have recorded two albums: the Inauthentic Sound of Cuba and Chihuahua, both available on Spotify, Amazon and CD at selected music shops; the video for their cover of “Cheap thrills” became a viral hit on Youtube in 2020.
In the past few years they have performed at festivals across the UK including Rickmansworth Canal Festival, Bunkfest, The Acoustic Festival of Britain, Lakefest, and Bishop Stortford Festival alongside artists such as Fairport Convention, Midge Ure, The Kaiser Chiefs and The Boomtown Rats. They have been described by rock photographer Eric Hobson as “the perfect festival band” and by Kim Wilde as “excellent fun”.
